Visuals of the latest track from Zimbabwean songbird Gemma and Zimdancehall superstar Enzo Ishall have dropped and a piece of art it is. The contrast between praying for love and blessings from on high whilst in the midst of committing a bank robbery and getaway makes the viewer take notice whilst leaving a conflict in ones own mind. The bonnie and Clyde routine has been played out in Hollywood quite a number of times and its now Zimdancehall’s time to show us the Zimbabwean iteration.
The song itself is a love-song as the duet plays out lyrics of people commiting to each other and appreciating the roles they both play in making each other feel treasured. In Shona lingo this is described as “kusimbisana murudo” as they give each other confidence in the relationship. Enzo has been doing the most in collaborating recently as he also collaborated with up and comer Shashl so more visibility for our artists is most welcome. Gemma recently returned from her tour of Australia with sungura king Aleck Macheso and not taking a moment’s rest she has now released Huya Tinamate.
The picture quality is awesome and the plot of the video keeps us captivated as if watching a blockbuster action movie. Even the use of a classic Landrover truck actually adds to the adventurous getaway scene in the video.
