Lockdown music episode 1 features the king of love songs Trevor wekwaDongo with newcomer Lawd Jae on a track simply titled Chimera. This month we focus on the best tracks circulating on our playlists to get us through the tough times and it’s a bonus that Chimera comes with an amazing video.
The story behind the track is that a guy is asking a girl to love him becomes noone can love her the way he does. Following on from the Shona idiom which goes “moyo muti unomera paunoda” loosely translated meaning the heart/love falls where it wills and defies sense. So Lawd Jae is asking for the girl to fall for him while time is still on their side. The track has that urban afro pop feel to it and the hip hop blends smoothly on the summer track.
The visuals show the well dressed, well groomed duo promising a better life to the gorgeous love interest who shows her instagram perfect body on top of a classic car. The artistic taste of the director shines through with the fashion and locations working together to give an amazing presentation. Trevor Dongo does well on this Eternity Music produced track and his collaborative ability pushes the track to a new dimension.
