Charlie Kay is very famous for being an explosive force in a small package and his success as an artist owes to the drive he has towards perfection. He carries that drive in his new release titled Amai with the picture perfect visuals launched in December. Amai praises the love and efforts of his mother in his upbringing and her support for his endeavors which make him the man he isa today. In the track he also calls upon the almighty to bless this being of love and nurture.
It’s a well worked track from a well trodden path as there are many tracks written for the first ladies of our hearts but few can claim to have been done with an infectious bounce. The mood of the track is happy and light so that our mothers can tap their feet and nod their heads as we dance for them. The visuals are splendid and capture the essence of family and nurture. Charlie provides that African pop swag never shying from his roots carrying it proudly in his attire and demeanor. The images shown stay with you even after watching and make you call your momma and family for a good old fashioned chat.
It’s frustrating that the lockdown and pandemic have made social gatherings a hazard so it’s good that a timeless track that shows love and appreciation for our mothers has popped up. We are sure it makes the dedication list for the women who have taught us to wash our hands with soap and water during this crisis.
