Zim hip hop has many that claim to be the hardest working artists in the game but few can go pound for pound with Kay Gee 40. Honorable mentions like Takura do come to mind but Kay Gee 40 just pulls one hustle after another. Today we bear witness to another product with the release of his EP ,Nothing Without which has burst into the limelight.
The EP features four tracks namely Forever With you, Nothing Without, Iwewe and Mama Said. Of the four Mama Said is currently rocking radio charts and the fandom is going crazy over the hard hitting lyricism. The track was produced by Kay Gee 40 himself and shows that he is a triple threat, he raps, sings and produces. The many hats he wears gives us a clearer picture of the entertainer who has captured our imagination since the days of Chitima Cherudo with his work ethic and vision coming more and more into the fore.
One criticism that he will have to bear on the EP is it’s length. He kept it short and sweet but the fan in me is clamouring for more and I wonder if this was his intention all along. The hope is that he has plans to quench the thirst he has created but we trust he can supply the demand as evidenced by his Sterek hit.
The TMG Rekodz alumni here worked with other producers Gransunn and Ahsayn the beatmaker to give this accomplished work a bit of diversity. Also lookout for featured artist Dairai on one of the songs to mellow the project out.
